About
The idea of a race accessible to all between Marseilles and Cassis has grown into an international phenomenon since it first debuted. This French Classic has seen participation grow from 700 runners at the first event to 12,000 today. The popular and friendly atmosphere of the race has also seen other events spring up in its wake. Since 1990, the environmental-awareness focused Autre Marseille-Cassis ramble has seen 1,800 walkers traverse the Calanques massif the day before the Classic. In 2006, the creation of the Sporty Ramble gave other walkers the chance to follow the runners to the Gineste in a different manner. This success story, now three decades old, is due to the dedication of the 600 volunteers of the SCO Ste Marguerite who make sure to give participants the best experience possible.
