It’s the start of a new month… and new races! There are events happening both in and outside of Berlin. There's a variety to choose from whether you want to do a road race or a longer distance event.


Road races, a 24-hour relay, and more…. Read below to find out more information on some of the bigger races happening in Germany next week!

Groß Glienicker 2- Seen- Lauf


The Groß Glienicker Lauf takes place right by the lake. It offers a 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1500m bambini run for children. The main runs are the 5km run/walk and the 10km run. Hydration and fruit are provided post race. You can register online and partake in late registration on the day of the event.

Volvo Tierparklauf- Sunday, September 9


The animal park run is not just any race, but you get to see beautiful animals along the run! The event offers a 5km and a 10km run, and shorter distance children runs. There will be more than 4000 runners and 800 kids present at the event. The registration deadline is September 5th by midnight.

Bernauer Stadtmauerlauf/ 24 Stunden von Bernau 2018-Saturday, September 8


Have you ever wondered what it would be like to do a 24-hour running challenge? If so, this is your chance. The 24-hour challenge requires a team of 5-10 runners and the route is composed of a track in which each runner will complete a certain amount of continuous laps. However, if you just want to run as an individual, the event has other racing options! There’s the 3.6km race and the 8.2km race. For children, there is a 1.8km fun run. The deadline for registration is September 5th.

HoyWoj-Dak-Citylauf Hoyerswerda 2018- Saturday, September 8


The HoyWoj-Dak-Citylauf offers a series of short-distance races of different formats (family race, company race, relays). There is even a 10 m diaper run. 10 meters for babies who can’t even walk yet! Registration is available on their website til the 2nd of September. You could also register on site with a 3 euro additional fee.


Stadtlauf von Sportscheck und BMW 2018- Sunday, September 9


The Sportscheck will take place in Leipzig next week. This is a huge running event with thousands of participants and spectators. You can either do the 5k or the 10k. There is a 400m bambini run along with a 1.5km kids run. Register online for this event. Everyone will receive a finisher medal and certificate. If you happen to be in the area of Leipzig, check out this race!
