Welcome to the 1st TRAIL RUNNING FESTIVAL, featuring two iconic races in the world of mountain running: the CRO TRAIL and La VIA DEI LUPI. Taking place in the charming Vermenagna Valley, this weekend event will showcase the beautiful municipalities of Vernante and Limone P.te.Both races are part of the renowned ONE HUNDRED WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP world circuit, adding to the prestige of the festival and attracting top athletes from Italy and around the world. The VIA DEI LUPI will kick off the festival on Saturday at 17:00, covering a classic 11 km route with 650 meters of elevation gain. The following day, the CRO TRAIL will begin at 08:00 from Vernante, covering 43 km and offering breathtaking views of the Maritime Alps Park, as well as the historic Savoy forts on the Italian-French border. Runners will also pass through the famous Via del Sale (Salt Road), connecting Liguria and Piedmont.<br><br>With starting times designed to maximize tourism impact, the festival is expected to bring in numerous athletes from across Italy and beyond, who will stay in the valley's hotels and dine in its restaurants. The CRO TRAIL is widely considered one of the best and most scenic "Ultra" races in Europe, making it a must-see event for travelers.<br><br>The VIA DEI LUPI may be a shorter race, but it is accessible to all and will still offer a thrilling experience. Runners participating in both races will have the chance to compete for the combined classification, based on their combined times.
