MELISSA'S RACE 2025: LIVE or VIRTUAL  <p> </p> GREAT MEDAL! GREAT CAUSE! NEW RACE LAYOUT! The 10th Annual Melissa's Race to Battle Brain Cancer is SO much more than another 5K. <p>This event is a FUNDRAISER benefiting ADVENT HEALTH CANCER INSTITUTE for brain cancer research. This event is in memory of Melissa Vosburg, a resident of Sanford and teacher at Midway Elementary School, who was lost to brain cancer in 2013. Hosted by Melissa Vosburg, Inc.</p> Melissa's Story   <p>Melissa's Race is known as the race with a heart. Thank you from the bottom of OUR hearts for your support!</p> <p>LOCATION: <br>Civic Center Park 401 E Seminole Ave, Sanford, FL </p> <p>YOUTH PRICING:<br>Registrants aged 14 and under can participate at a discount.<br>The Youth 5K price is $25. This will be priced automatically based on the age of the participant.</p> <p>PACKET PICKUP &amp; WALK UP REGISTRATION<br>Thursday, May 2 4p-7p and Friday, May 3 noon-6p at Deviant Wolfe Brewing, Sanford<br>Saturday, May 4 from 6a at Registration Tent, Civic Center Park, Sanford</p> <p>RACE START TIME<br>6:00a Registration and Packet Pickup Opens<br>6:30a National Anthem &amp; Opening Ceremony<br>7:00a Wave 1 Starts (Recommended for competitive runners)<br>7:05a Wave 2 Starts <br>7:10a Wave 3 Starts<br>7:15a Wave 4 Starts<br>8:15a Race ends<br>8:30a - 9:30a Closing Ceremony &amp; Butterfly Release</p> <p>AWARDS<br>In addition to a great cause - brain cancer research - Melissa's Race is also competitive!  <br>Top overall male and female, top masters (&gt;40) male and female and top 3 male and female age groups will receive awards. Age groups include 9 &amp; under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+</p> <p>CREATE or JOIN A TEAM<br>Begin registration process and select "Create a Team" when prompted. You can also create your team as a fundraising team by selecting "Yes" when asked.To join a team, begin registration process and select "Join a Team" when prompted. Choose the team you wish to join from the drop down menu.  Your team will automatically be setup as a Fundraising team.  As an added incentive, your fundraising will enter you into a drawing for a Team prize.  </p>
