About this event

Nightrider will be the hottest ticket in town when it returns for one night only next summer. The iconic charity night ride is the perfect backdrop for the best night out in London. It is a fun and quirky way to explore the city's top sights, latest attractions and famous landmarks. On 10 / 11 June 2017, hundreds of lycra-clad Nightriders will ride through London's moonlit streets and help raise £1 million in one night. Hundreds of charities will benefit including British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK and Shelter. Each Nightrider can choose to support their favourite charity. London is the city that never sleeps and when twilight descends, it takes on a whole new atmosphere. Nightrider showcases the capital in a totally different light, with its iconic sights magically illuminated. The action-packed night out includes the floodlit splendour of Big Ben, the London Eye, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, St Paul's Cathedral, Canary Wharf and many more hidden gems. There are incredible views of the city's skyline from Hampstead Heath. The overnight ride starts and finishes at one of London's latest attractions: Lee Valley VeloPark in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. New for 2017 is a 50km route, which focuses mainly on the vibrant city centre, in addition to the original 100km version which offers a grand circular tour of London.

Nightrider is a fantastic way to get together with friends and family or team up with work colleagues. The event has a party-like atmosphere because it is not timed and is not a race. Each route is clearly signposted with regular break / toilet stops so that cyclists can ride at their own pace. Full support and back up is provided through the night and a well-earned breakfast and medal available at the finish line. Nightrider offers the chance to have fun and enjoy a Saturday night out with a difference, while doing something amazing for charity. Nic Merrett took part in London Nightrider 2016 for Mango Tree Orphan Support Programme. He said: "Congratulations to all at Nightrider for organising such a brilliant event.... great atmosphere and loads of fun! I saw parts of London I never knew existed!" Nightrider is organised by leading charity tour operator Classic Tours. The route is clearly sign-posted so that Nightriders can cycle at their own pace. There are regular break stops en-route plus medical support and mechanical back up provided throughout the night. Everyone receives a well-earned breakfast and medal at the finish line. There are two payment options to take part in London Nightrider: Option 1: Pay £99 full event cost then raise as much sponsorship money as possible for any charity. Option 2: Pay £39 registration fee then raise £175* minimum sponsorship for a Nightrider charity partner (*exact amount set by each charity).
