About
In Greek mythology, Cerberus is a THREE-headed dog who guards the gates of Hades. In adventure racing, Cerberus is the THREE-day stage race that we think will be pretty dog-gone fun!
The inaugural Cerberus Expedition Stage Race will take place from May 2-4, 2025 from Camp Powhatan BSA Camp (2600 Max Creek Rd, Hiwassee, VA 24347) near Claytor Lake. The unique setup of this event allows racers to experience the thrill of multi-day racing without all of the sleep deprivation and dependency on a diet of solely sports nutrition. Each day will feature a unique course which should take teams about 12 hours to complete and feature a specific race discipline (paddling, cycling, trekking), though you will do several disciplines each day. There will be plenty of navigational challenges as well. The course will be designed to challenge both beginners and more advanced racers.
Race registration fees are PER PERSON.
Racers will enjoy a prepared breakfast each day before the race. After each day's race is complete, teams will be able to clean up, enjoy a communal dinner, and then retire to their lodging to recover for the next day. Winners for each day's race will be recognized and the champions (Tamer of Cerberus) will be crowned on Sunday based upon the highest cumulative points collected in the lowest cumulative time.
This is the first expedition stage race of this kind to be hosted in the United States and we're excited to share this event with you!
